Instagram started the official rollout of its pinned comment feature on Tuesday, which the company began testing for the first time back in May.The function allows any user to pin three comments on a post to the top of a page, which is intended to allow a post's author to better monitor the comment thread's tone by highlighting positivity which moderating more negative and abusive responses that appear below the pinned comments.

The original test coincided with the introduction of a tool by Instagram for bulk deletion of comments, which has been live for two months. Only swipe left to pin a comment to show the options for publishing, deleting, and reacting. Now, you will see a pushpin icon to the far left of those three options.

Instagram has been trying to improve its tools to fight harassment , abuse, and misinformation over the past few years and its efforts have intensified under current CEO Adam Mosseri. The moderation of Instagram's comment has notably improved. The company also uses artificial intelligence to block offensive comments automatically, and is using similar AI techniques to alert users before publishing potentially offensive or damaging captions. Pinned comments, while perhaps not as effective a tool as some of those earlier and more needed additions to the platform, can still help popular creators, celebrities,Enterprises must handle their profiles on Instagram and others a great deal.
