A few weeks ago, Xiaomi unveiled MIUI and started sending the update to its phones. The company sent out the update to the Mi 9 T and Redmi K20 last week and the rollout continues with Xiaomi's last-gen flagship handset, the Mi 9.

As with the K20 and Mi 9 T, the update is the update to beta stable. That means that it is a precursor to the full release, as long as there are no big concerns from those receiving the update. The update is now being sent out across Europe to testers. The update carries the "V12.0.0.9.QFAEUXM" software version and weighs in at 1.1 GB, which is significantly larger than the updates from the Redmi K20 and Mi 9 T, although the changelogs are identical.

The MIUI 12 rollout for Xiaomi is split into two phases. The first stage will see the update obtained exclusively from the Mi 9, Mi 9 T, Mi 9 T Pro, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. Others are listed for stage two. Having received the MIUI 12 update from the Redmi K20, Mi 9 T and Mi 9, that leaves the Mi 9 T Pro and Redmi K20 Pro on the agenda as the next phones.
